Different regions have a unique way of crafting and materials vary depending on local resources. Thailand has a wide range of handicrafts such as nielloware, bronzeware, weaving, lacquerware, enamelware, ceramics, silverware, woodware and basketry.

Abundant with lime stone, Chonburi, in particular Ang-Sila has produced the lime stone mortars as well as decorative items such as jewellery and home decorative ornaments. Basketry is also found in the province.

Having had the reputation in its beauty, Thai jewellery and gems are in high quality including its style, cutting and polishing. Gemstone is found in the eastern region of Thailand. Chonburi's neighbouring province, Chantaburi is a hub of gem and jewellery production. It is known for ruby and sapphire. Other gemstones such as amethyst, aqumarine, garnet, spinel and zircon are also found. Pattaya has a number of jewellery stores spread throughout. Yet, customers may need to be wary of fake gems scams. The retailers with the government's JFC seal are proved of authentic quality standard which should be affixed in front of JFC member outlets. The JFC logo represents a ruby ring with the names TGJTA and Jewel Fest Club.

Fashion boutiques are located throughout. You can find them in shopping malls. There are also street vendors selling them at bargain prices. Some are handmade-individual brands, some are counterfeit brand names.

Weaving textiles is a country's cultural heritage. Thailand is one of the country that has impressive quality in particular silk. Different regions have unique patterns and tradition in weaving. Some ancient patterns are still maintained. Textile is the major industry in Thailand focusing on the northern region which is the main producers. Nevertheless, it can also be found in other regions such as lower north, northeast and southern regions. The products are not only sold in Thailand but also exported to many countries around the world.

Many art galleries can be found along Pratamnak Road in South Pattaya and in other major tourist areas. Besides art exhibitions, some of them offer a variety of works and services including made-to-order pieces and art reproductions at reasonable prices and high quality.

Pattaya may not be an ideal place to go electronics shopping due to the high prices but ones can purchase at shops located along the main roads or an IT shopping centre featuring a wide range of products such as cameras, computer hardware, software, gadgets, mobile phones, electronics parts, TVs, DVDs and many more.

There are shops selling furniture for home and office both modern and traditional styles. Most modern style furniture is found in furniture shops in shopping malls but if you would like to opt for more traditional styles, there are local shops selling furniture in different types of materials namely teak, lacquer wood, rosewood, rubber tree or rattan. Some shops also have overseas shipping services.

Pattaya has average number of bookstores catering tourists and expats living in Pattaya. There are English language publications sold in franchised bookstores like Asia Book, B2S and other local bookstores with a wide range of new books and newspapers. Some local bookstores offer second-hand books and some trade second-hand books and new books with discounted prices. There are also local publications in other languages such as German, Russian and Scandinavian languages.

An array of hospitals and clinics are located in Pattaya. Some hospitals are state-run. The treatment and medicines are at very reasonable price but language barrier may occur. Private hospitals also provide excellent service with higher price but still inexpensive compared to the western countries. Medicines can be purchased at local pharmacies located throughout and most of them are prescription-free. International chain pharmacy like Boots is available at major shopping malls as well as one in Walking Street.
